I am writing this blog to share my spiritual beliefs and experiences.   I had a good foundation being raised in the Baptist Religion but I am seeking more than what I was taught during Sunday church service.   In fact, my personal experiences are what propelled me to go beyond religious teachings because I knew there was something missing.  I knew there was much more to learn than what was being taught.   I hope to have dialog with others about their beliefs, knowledge, and spiritual journey.

What on earth could push or pull a woman and mother of three to abandon her marriage, elope with a street kid, leaving those three kids behind? What on earth could push or pull a woman to live such parallel lives and fake such an existence whereas all the ‘glamour’ was just superficial? What definitely went wrong in her childhood that could have contributed to the sad and dare say ‘insane’ series of unconventional loves and existence? Well, this is what the memoir is all about. This novel is a brutally honest memoir of a woman’s struggle to live a ‘Meaningful and Happy Life’. This novel is a sad tale of the depths a woman had to sink to before braving to a new life of ‘Meaning and Happiness’. This is a story of Determination, Discipline and Dedication which takes its readers through a series of ‘sane and insane acts’ of a woman who lived in adultery over and over again, who lived parallel lives, and who when she missed the suicide attempt, realized it was time to be Honest with herself and her world. Intermingled in the sub themes, is the unfolding of a mother’s dramatic and tough love for her daughter. Some say the novel is encapsulating and captivating and others say it is inspirational and motivational. The Author says, she thinks it is both. She wrote this personal ‘thriller’ of hers in all honesty because she wanted to make her Mess her Message and her Test her Testimony. It probably would make an excellent read!

About the Author

I, Marie A. Abanga, am what many will call a dynamic and determined woman. I go by the three Ds of Determination-Discipline-Dedication and yes in most of what I do I strive to do it to my best.

This led me through a life’s lane of Hurts, Adulteries and Redemption as I tried to live out what I consider my 3 in 1 life. How do I understand and live fully my Spiritual, Physical and emotional life? It surely is a tough feat but we can only admit that until we strike some kind of balance to do that, we live on restlessly until we rest somewhere.

My very first memoir is therefore a very sensational thriller.

Think of if we had Mary Magdalene’s own memoir in our hands. Well she to me is better because it was her occupation as a ‘free woman” and yet I wasn’t for most part of my book. My entire official documents except my birth certificate recorded my status as married!

My Unconventional Loves narrates My Hurts – My Adulteries – My Redemption. It is My Story of Faith and my God’s unconditional love for me and writing this book is My Therapy.

I sincerely want to make My Mess My Message and My Test My Testimony. I sincerely hope it Helps more than it Hurts. Well this is the other side of Me.

      Dear Vee,
I just told another virtual friend of mine that I was truly amazed at all what I was learning and doing since I came to Belgium in January straight from Cameroon in Africa where I was already resigning myself to a life of sadness and despair. I am struck by people especially my ‘mothers’ that is those of 50+ years who are still so active, engaging and young that I decided to bounce back and keep up.
Thank you Vee your likes truly inspire me
